Cup & Saucer

Saucers make the whole experience of drinking coffee or tea so much better, more luxurious. More than simply catching the errant drip before it hits the table, saucers make the act of drinking more tactile, more pleasurable. After many attempts, I have finally figured out how to make the perfect saucer for my curve cup in exactly the right way. The cup is designed with a very comfortable 2 finger handle. A curving pattern undulates around the perimeter, visible inside and out. Glazed in a two tone green color scheme, and interplay of satin matte and high gloss surface make this set a tactile and visual pleasure to behold.

This piece was hand thrown and trimmed on a potter’s wheel. It was then cut into many pieces, the edges smoothed with a sponge, then reassembled to yield the lines seen on the inside and out. Made from midrange porcelain, it features bright vibrant colors, high durability, and a reduced environmental impact. It is dishwasher safe, food safe, lead free, microwave safe, durable, and sanitary.

This set measures 5 inches wide, 3.5 tall. The cup holds 12 Oz.
