The curve mug was designed with function in mind. The foot is wide enough to be sturdy, the opening wide enough to easily clean. The gentle curve of the profile generates a wonderful intersecting ellipse design within the texture, sort of reminiscent of the Chrysler Building in New York. This mug measures 4” wide at the lip, 3.75” tall, and holds 14 ounces.

Handle Types
Close
This is my “close” handle design, which hugs the contours of the mug. This handle offers good leverage for the weight of the liquid, but is not so close that your knuckles make contact with the hot cup. It comfortably fits two or three fingers depending on how big they are, but definitely is not for one-finger use.
Handle Types
Wide
My new “wide” handle design is made for ergonomic versatility. It is a thicker stock than the others, and has a shape that makes it comfortable for 1, 2, or 3 fingers, accommodating a wide variety of grip preferences and finger sizes.
Handle Types
Wiggle
Based on the excellent article by Old Forge Pottery in the UK, my new “wiggle” handle design might look a bit weird, but is extremely ergonomic for 2 finger use. The inset ring finger notch creates an effortless vertical position for the mug while the hand is in its most natural position. It basically disappears in your sensory experience and is quite nice, but it does not work with more or fewer fingers.
Textures
-
Tactile Texture
This surface is built in the digital environment and comes from the conversion of curved and rounded forms into tiny cubes known as voxels, or volume pixels. When the curves are described in tiny cubes, patterns emerge that are unexpected and complex. The closer you look, the more you see. The points of the voxels poke through the glaze’s surface tension, creating a very tactile surface that you can feel. The glaze pools in the valleys and has a sort of sparkle to it.
-
Knockdown Texture
The knockdown surface is a bolder, but smoother version of the tactile surface. In the digital environment, the pixellated form is intersected with the smooth version of the same form. The result is a shaved down outer surface that allows the glaze to form a smooth coat, while converting the squares into triangles. Surface tension in the glaze directs it to accumulate and form rivulets of thicker glaze, reactive to the pattern.
Size
This is a generous, but not massive cup. It is 4 inches wide at the rim and 3.75 inches tall. It holds 14 Ounces of coffee or tea.
Information
Shipping
I ship all works in paper packaging that is easy to re-use, recycle, or compost. I do use plastic tape and in the case of multiple-piece orders, some shrink wrap, but all other materials are kraft paper based. Shipping is a flat rate of $8 for single items, and free for orders of 2 or more items. I ship via USPS or UPS depending on delivery quickness and cost. I ship all orders within 2 days, so your new purchase will arrive promptly. All orders will receive tracking info upon shipment, and I cover losses in the extremely rare event that the pot breaks in shipping. My packing methods are well-tested and over thousands of shipped pots, I have lost only a couple pots.

A great deal of work went into the design of my pottery to be stunningly beautiful in its simplicity of form and complexity of surface. I have designed and mix my own clay recipe, which has given me the ability to test and develop a strong, vitreous and pure clay recipe that gives the pottery the strength to be a daily workhorse in you kitchen and household. The glaze, my now-famous Campana Clear, fits the clay perfectly for a super glossy, durable, and crack free surface that will hold up to years of use and is just fine in the dishwasher. I make all of this work in my home studio in Kennesaw, Georgia, and I have extremely high standards for the work I put out in the world. The images here represent a very close resemblance to the pot you will receive. I do not photograph and post each and every pot, so some difference may occur, but the piece will be of an equally high quality. I offer a 30 day free return, postage paid, so rest assured that your purchase will be risk-free.
